Right-click My Computer (under the Start menu or on the desktop) and choose Properties. Click Hardware Click Device Manager
Check that ‘SpeedTouch USB modem’ and 'SpeedTouch USB ADSL PPP' (under the Network adaptors option) do not have a yellow warning symbol over them. If they do then you may need to reinstall the drivers. Your ISP will be able to provide you with the drivers if you don’t already have a CD. If during the driver reinstallation you get an Access Denied error, click Start and Run, type regedit into the 'Run' box and click OK. This opens the registry editor from which you need to perform the following: Right-click HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE and select Permissions. Add your username in with Full Control Click Advanced and tick the box to Replace permission entries on all child objects with entries shown here that apply. If you are asked for confirmation of this action then click Yes. Close the registry editor and try reinstalling the drivers. You should now be successful.
